Butterfly Conservation 50th Anniversary

Butterfly Conservation was registered on 9th March 1968. As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations, we are holding events across the UK with a Conservation Day of Action on Saturday 10th March involving huge numbers of volunteers. The Upper Thames Branch is holding a Training Day in Milton Keynes on that day (already fully booked), and a scrub-bashing and coppicing work party on the same day at Aston Upthorpe Downs, east of Blewbury.

Work party attendees should meet at the grain dryer at 10am (at the end of a minor road off the A417; SU550844). The work party is expected to finish at around 1pm. Please bring stout footwear, outdoor clothing, a drink and a snack. We normally supply some tools, but if you have your own, please do bring them.

We would be delighted if new people come along to the work party event to find out about the work we do. It would be helpful if you could contact Jim Asher at if you are thinking of coming, so that we can manage numbers.
