From Hugh Smith : "A total of 4 White-letter Hairstreaks seen this morning at Hardwell Lane, Woolstone, Oxon (SU288877). The two on the elm close to the overhead lines were hard to see and one of them only flew once in nearly an hour of watching. When it settled near the top I picked out the second sat on a leaf nearby. On arriving one Hairstreak was on bramble close to the metal gate leading out into the field roughly 200m to the north. A second was found on a thistle in the field to the east of the track close to the power lines. It may be worth looking in other places along the track were elm is present. Good luck!"
From Martin Young : "How wonderful is Bernwood Forest, Bucks (SP613115)! In one hour standing by the bramble patch closest to the car park I saw: Meadow Browns, Ringlets, Gatekeepers, Speckled Woods, Small Skippers, Large Skippers, Large Whites, Green-veined Whites, Small Whites, Brimstones (M+F), Red Admirals, Peacocks, White Admirals, Commas (one licked my sweaty wrist for several minutes), Silver-washed Fritillaries, Purple Hairstreaks and Hornets. And down the main track I saw Marbled Whites and a fresh male Purple Emperor. 18 species within 100 yards, and all accessible even in a wheel-chair if necessary."
From Dave Cleal : "The fields leading towards Haywood Barns between Woodlands Park, Berks (SU8677) & White Waltham contained thousands of Whites, perhaps up to 4,000. Large White, Small White and Green-veined White were all present, with Green-veined seemingly the commonest. Viewing through bins at times it looked like it was snowing. Most were over the Rapeseed to the south side of the access track but there is overspill into surrounding areas with myself & neighbours experiencing much higher numbers than previous years in our gardens."
From Chris Brown : "Seen at Millenium Green, Sonning Common, Oxon (SU713794) today were Small Skipper 75, Essex Skipper 1, Large White 6, Small Copper 4, Brown Argus 2, Painted Lady 1, Peacock 2, Comma 1,Speckled Wood 1, Marbled White 18, Gatekeeper 11, Meadow Brown 15, Ringlet 3."

From Denise Harper : "A very hot (but windy) afternoon, so decided to just take a short local walk around Millennium Green in Sonning Common, Oxon (SU715793). Astonished to see, within metres of the N.E. entrance, a Purple Hairstreak fly across the path into an oak tree, low down. We searched the branches and found it, and managed a few photos before it moved out of sight. I was not aware any had previously been recorded there. There seemed to be hundreds of Small Skippers, but I spotted 1 which I think was an Essex Skipper. Also approx 6 Gatekeeper, 10 Marbled White, quite a few Large Whites, and 2 Holly Blues."

From David Hastings : "I spent a decent couple of hours at Hackpen Hill, Oxon (SU349849) this morning. Although it was rather breezy and cloudy, it was quite warm. I saw my first Small Skipper of the year, plus Large Skipper (9+), Meadow Brown (15+), Small Heath (20+) and Marbled White (13). There were loads of Peacock larvae on nettles; there should be a huge emergence in 6-7 weeks' time. "
